Stack cut these timeless designs for instant cheer

These simple designs add elegance to classic sentiments of the season. By adding a ribbon, they can be used for a variety of holiday gifts. In addition to scrolling the designs as classic ornaments, a few minor alterations create many possibilities:

• Enlarge the pattern and add a base for a tealight candle
• Make a clock by adding an inexpensive insert to the “O.”
• Use the “O” as a picture frame
• Add a name for distinctive gift tags

 

Materials & Tools:

Materials:

• Wood of choice, 1/4″ (6mm) thick: 8″ (20.3cm) square
• Spray adhesive
• Sandpaper
• Finish

 

Tools:

• Scroll saw blades, #5, #5 reverse-tooth
• Drill with bits: assorted small
